- Original Caption Merddin Emrys in the final cutting before Tan-y-Bwlch station with a train from Porthmadog Harbour. Fireman Dave "Rolo" Mackintosh can take it easy now the journey is almost over, though Driver Bill Hoole still has the regulators wide open on the constant uphill gradient.

- Original Caption Merddin Emrys takes to the woods above the huge Cei Mawr embankment and really gets into its stride with the 14:15 train from Porthmadog to Tan-y-Bwlch. The engine is carrying a temporary paper headboard on the smokebox, "Zoey Goldstraw", apparently fireman Peter Wood's girlfriend, and applied by two loco department volunteers with Driver Evan M. Davies's permission!
