N.B. [[ Not to be confused with Dinas, the orignal station, near Blaenau Ffestiniog, on the Ffestiniog Railway

Original Terminus of the North Wales Narrow Gauge Railways and later the Welsh Highland Railway.

Now the main engineering and operational centre. The word "Junction" was dropped from the name after the closure of the WHR, as the Standard gauge Afonwen branch which passed through here no longer exists. (The WHR uses its trackbed into Caernarfon)

The village is also sometimes referred to as Dinas Llanwnda, as the single word Dinas appears in a number of locations in Wales. In terms of this wiki, it also differentiates from the original Dinas station on the FR near Blaenau Ffestiniog, the other end of the railway.
