Bagnall

This was the second of two attractive Bagnall 0-4-2T locomotives built for the Rustenberg Platinum Mines in South Africa that came to the WHR. It is builder's number 3023 of 1953.

The two WHR locomotives arrived in Porthmadog in April 1982. Tentatively to be named 'Moel Tryfan', Rustenberg number 3 remained in store, latterly dismantled although some work was carried out on the frames and running gear.

The loco was removed from WHR(P) on January 10th 2008, having reportedly been sold by the consortium of WHR Ltd members who had owned it (The Railway Magazine, March 2008, p. 72).
