Associated Railways

There are, or have been, a number of railways and/or tramways connected with the FR Co. throughout its history.
These have been collectively grouped by gauge :
- Associated Railways, Gauge, Standard
- Associated Railways, Gauge, Narrow
- Associated Railways, Gauge, Miniature
The term 'Narrow' gauge refers to all gauges between Standard, at 4'8½" (1435mm), and Miniature, which is taken as 15 inches (381mm) or less.
For completion, and very little is known about it, there was the Moelwyn & Port Madoc Railway. A bill was deposited in Parliament in 1825 an aborted attempt at a similar connecting railway between Porthmadog and toward the Blaenau Ffestiniog area, using the Croesor valley, and surveyed by James Spooner.
Also, a slight distance away from the line of the railway, is the Talyllyn Railway. Prior to, and during the early years of the revival, a number of those involved had been involved with the Talyllyn
